Our Get-Together at 43 North turned out to be another enjoyable evening. With over 40 members braving the frigid weather, we gathered around the fireplace to enjoy the first event of 2011.

While driving home, I noticed the outside temperature had dropped to -16°. It set off my tire pressure monitor and told me I had a flat tire. Actually I didn’t have a flat, but the outside temperature dropped enough that it alerted me to the decrease in tire pressure. FYI: for every 10° drop in temperature, your tires will lose about 1psi of pressure.

Everyone enjoyed libations and conversation before having a delightful dinner. Members talked about the winter, cars and the upcoming summer events. Personally, I can’t wait. New members (Jim Wunsch, Elias & Kristy Bisharat, Michelle & John Kren) were introduced along with guests from the Pacific North West Region, Cal & Myra Cutheart. A farewell to our past board members was given, with special thanks to our retiring board members: Jim Moses, Anne Fish and Lou Hochheiser. It was a pleasure being part of this dynamic group. Our new Board of Directors (Scot Anderson, Nancy Clancy, Mike Faems, Eric Weber, Stan Siegel, Robin Koop, Charles Brown and yours truly) were then introduced.

There were a few special announcements; Judy Joseph is planning a visit to the Porsche factory in Leipzig, Germany. She will be taking a factory tour where the Panamera and Cayenne are built. Also she’ll be driving a Cayman on Porsche’s beautiful test track. Lucky her! Tracy and Sean Haling are also expecting a baby girl in April. Congratulations!

Scot, our VP & Activities Director gave a briefing on the club activities that the board has planned for the summer. Dates appear in this newsletter calendar along with ads that explain each event.
