Hawaiian Scavenger Hunt

The showdown began at high noon in the High School Parking Lot. Check-in was handled by our faithful rally organizer, Scot and help was provided by his friend Alice. Typical picture-perfect Jackson Hole summertime weather prevailed throughout the day. After instructions and a safety briefing was given, everyone headed out on their selected course. The fourteen teams gathered information along the way as the group met for lunch at Leeks Marina.

The group of Hawaiian sports car enthusiasts then converged at Dornans Restaurant for the “After Party”. This consisted of libations, conversation, awards and an afternoon spent gazing at the Tetons.

With so many members participating, the competition for this year’s top prize was fierce. The top five spots were awarded prizes with the “Green Jacket” award going to Mike & Kristy Mielke. They now have the privilege (yuck-yuck) of keeping it until next year’s event. Mike and Nancy Faems, last year’s winners, added a few more patches to make this prestigious award look even more hideous—err, I mean elegant.

Other notable winners were; Best Dressed, Kitty Brown—Most Creative, Nancy Clancy—Best Hawaiian Native, Gainor Bennett.

Everyone had a wunderbar afternoon driving their cars and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We are now all looking forward to having Mike or Kathy model this gorgeous jacket our next event.
